Totally Tubular 5K

Hey COJ - so my kids' school is having a fundraiser in the form of a 5K - and as the title suggests it is a "flashback run" complete with costume contest.  I've come to you seeking ideas for the man on a budget.  While I was a youngster then ('89 grad) those days of fashion are a bit hazy for me.  I generally wore something completely uncool.  Ideas so far have included dressing like Rocky, the Ultimate Warrior (don't have the physique for either of those) or possibly cut off blue jeans and a half football jersey.

Any of you creative types have any ideas?  I thought about a headband (Jim McMahon of the Bears) but not sure folks will recall that one.  Any tips for a 6, 8 and 9 year old also appreciated.
