Overcast
Total Time = 1h 17m 32s
Overall Rank = /
Age Group = Clydesdale
Age Group Rank = 5/21
Pre-race routine:

Got out here early because I didn't know how long it would take to get to Belle Isle.
Event warmup:

Little bit of riding, lots of chilling.
Swim
  • 11m 4s
  • 500 meters
  • 02m 13s / 100 meters
Comments:

Current wasn't too strong. Water was warm enough.
What would you do differently?:

Swim more, wade less.
Transition 1
  • 02m 27s
Comments:

A little trouble getting the suit off.
Bike
  • 36m 13s
  • 20 kms
  • 33.13 km/hr
Comments:

The course had several large puddles covering nearly all the lanes due to recent heavy rains. Tailwind did not aid you as much as headwind hindered you. Lots of fun riding with the really fast folks. I love the loop!
What would you do differently?:

N/A Fun ride.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

Another @#$%! rolled into the ride time. Really second class.
Run
  • 27m 49s
  • 3.4 miles
  • 08m 11s  min/mile
Comments:

Sun came out some and warmed things up.
Post race
Warm down:

Wait to get bike out of corral. 3D was very conscious about keeping the corral secure (why not every race 3d?).

Event comments:

Boston Market post-race = yuck. This race is pretty good primarily due to the loop bike course and the scenic views. Running on the race track is cool also. This venue could support so much growth which could make this race special.

When I told my husband that I planned to work toward completing a sprint triathlon, he smiled and was supportive, but a bit disbelieving.

I was passing others who were saying, "Good job, 587" (that was my race number). People were cheering me on. These were the nicest people I have ever been around!

Experts agree, doing a “mock,” triathlon on the course you’re racing can aid you in your training; performance and most of all quell some nervous energy.
