Subject: Ocean Wave EnergyHi all,
I've been in just a few ocean swims and had to be rescued yesterday at the Bilgola Ocean Swim (rather embarrassing ).
The waves were huge and they were really strong.
I was looking at the surf forecasts for this weekend for the Dee Why ocean swim and there is a forecast on Wave "Energy".
It looks like Dee Why is going to have big waves.
I know I should just wait until the actual day to make a decision but can anyone give me a guide as to what is considered to be high energy waves from a kJ point of view? This Saturday the wave energy is predicted to be between 0 - 148kJ but on Sunday (event ) is predicted to be 1371 - 1565kJ.
What would you consider low strenth, med strenth, high/dangerous strength waves? I just need to get mentally prepared
Thanks,
Sarah |
