Comments: The run went about as well as I expected. I walked the water station and one particularly steep hill, which I can live with considering this was my first race in almost 2 years. While I was a bit frustrated to lose a few runners towards the end that I'd been even with the whole time, I'm satisfied with my overall pacing. My knees didn't bother me, which was a concern going into the race. What would you do differently?: Get in more trail-specific training beforehand. ![]() Post race
Event comments: This is a great, no-frills trail race. The organizers do a good job getting it started on time, there are plenty of volunteers at key intersections to keep you from missing a turn, and the overall atmosphere is great. The course isn't too technical, but has enough hills, rocks, and roots to keep things interesting. This is my second time racing, and I'll definitely be back. Last updated: 2016-04-26 12:00 AM
