Pre-race routine:

Drove over to race site after a relaxed morning at the cabin. Got there about 0800 and set up transition. Used the bathroom, dropped my bag at the DRG van. Put on my wetsuit and took some pics with my athletes.
Event warmup:

None
Swim
  • 25m 43s
  • 1500 meters
  • 01m 43s / 100 meters
Comments:

Started out in the middle on the back row. Made sure I had some open water so I could start and get into a good rhythm. Felt like I was getting off course, but track showed me going pretty straight. Was able to grab some feet and follow and knew I was towards the front of my wave.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Transition 1
  • 02m 54s
Comments:

Wetsuit got stuck on my feet, so I had to stop to pull it off. Long run out of transition up a hill to the road and mount line.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Bike
  • 1h 11m 54s
  • 24 miles
  • 20.03 mile/hr
Comments:

Just felt like I could never get into a strong pace. Legs just didn't want to turn over. Had to pee really bad and couldn't really go because there was no good downhills to let it out.
What would you do differently?:

Need more bike training.
Transition 2
  • 02m 29s
Comments:

Again, long run into transition. At this point I really had to pee, so did it while I was putting my shoes on. Probably lost some time because of it.
Run
  • 48m 13s
  • 6.2 miles
  • 07m 47s  min/mile
Comments:

The run starts out on some grey quicksand like material. Then onto a gravel road before hitting the open road. The course is definitely more rolling then they let on, but wasn't too bad and I kept a good pace. At about 1.5 miles, someone in my AG flew past me and I knew I probably wouldn't see him again. Goal was to keep just under 8:00/miles and that felt pretty good for me. The 1st loop ends on the gravel as you turn to head out on the 2nd loop. By about mile 5 I had to poop, but knew I could hold it until the end. Barely made that. ;)
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Post race
Warm down:

Bathroom, changed clothes and went to watch friends finish

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of bike training

Event comments:

Good race and I'd definitely do it again next year if I was still in the area.

Knowing where the fluids are, how they will fit on your bike, how much to reach for, and when to reach for it should be understood prior to ever setting foot on the course.
