Transition 1
Comments: no wetsuit, so no issues there, nominally dry off legs/feet, put on socks & hiking shoes (since I don't have bike shoes), add helmet, ready to go Bike
Comments: I pushed too hard on the hills trying to stay ahead of the woman in front of me. Consequently, I had no quads left for the run. What would you do differently?: not push the hills so much. Train hills more. Transition 2
Run
Comments: I couldn't even slightly jog uphill b/c I killed my quads biking the hills What would you do differently?: train more hills, squats, Post race
Warm down: halting walk What limited your ability to perform faster: I Event comments: I didn't check course elevation and so didn't train on "rolling" enough hills. They did have race medals, and even though I was way last, I got one too. (yay) That helped. free BBQ, and free pool access for families on the day of the race. Last updated: 2016-06-14 12:00 AM
