Swim
Comments: The swim was cancelled due to severe weather watch. Race organizers decided to do 2.3 run around Lake Andrea instead. What would you do differently?: It was my fastest short distance run on triathlon races. Transition 1
Comments: The gear was all wet after a storm passing by. What would you do differently?: Prepare large plastic piece of foil to protect my gear from rain. Bike
Comments: I took it easy on turns and passing. The roads were wet after rainfall. What would you do differently?: Not bad as for adjusting for the weather. Transition 2
Comments: Considering that the gear was wet - not bad at all. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run
Comments: Hot (90 F) and humid again. I do not tolerate such conditions well. My heart rate was too high, so I decided to run Galloway 30/60 to keep heart rate no more than 95% of maximum. In addition, there were not enough water stations on the course and some of them run out of cups. No Gattorade available! What would you do differently?: Nothing - no control over the weather. I have to wait for another race to improve my PR as this was one of my goals on this race. Post race
Warm down: Some stretching. What limited your ability to perform faster: Hot weather. Event comments: This is my forth Pleasant Prairie race and I am disappointed with it. Although, there was nothing we could do about the weather, race organizers surely could do a much better job with setting up more add stations with sport drinks (not only water), especially on the 10K run. Food and post race activities very poor. Last updated: 2016-06-26 12:00 AM
