Total Time = 00m
Overall Rank = 198/
Age Group = 45-49
Age Group Rank = 15/22
Pre-race routine:

Stand around waiting for the much delayed race to start. Bad stomach issues which meant I was hitting the porta-potty multiple times. Sorry too much information. I almost bailed because I felt so sick. I guess a red bull before the race is not a good idea.
Event warmup:

Standing around. Minimal stretching
Run
  • 18m 47s
  • 2.3 miles
  • 08m 10s  min/mile
Comments:

I was slow.
What would you do differently?:

Same as always. Train.
Transition 1
  • 02m 50s
Comments:

I actually ran into transition rather than just walking so that is a win!
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Bike
  • 46m 46s
  • 20 kms
  • 25.66 km/hr
Comments:

Boy, I guess not riding your bike really affects your speed.
What would you do differently?:

Ride my bike. Hit the hills harder
Transition 2
  • 02m 49s
Comments:

Hey look at that a second faster than the first transition
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Run
  • 30m 24s
  • 5 kms
  • 06m 05s  min/km
Comments:

And then wheels came off. I always have problems running after the bike.
What would you do differently?:

Suck it up and run!
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around. Drank a shitload. Talked to my co-worker and then left

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My belly, my lack of training and just the overall anxiety about life.

Event comments:

Well it wasn't the race directors fault that there was lightning and rain so I cannot blame them for the late start. It would have been nice to have more than one water station on a hot day. But overall I imagine it is an easy race and course for real athletes. Just not me!

I was passing others who were saying, "Good job, 587" (that was my race number). People were cheering me on. These were the nicest people I have ever been around!
