US / Russia relations

I never understood why we (senators - like Graham and McCain) would call the Russian our 'enemies' and we (Obama) impose sanctions on them and expel their diplomats and yet we have to rely on them to support the International Space Station. Since we retired the Space Shuttles we have no way to get our astronauts, supplies and payload racks to/from the space station. Seems to be if we pisz off the Russian, we might regret it. But maybe they need the money? :-)


BTW, I am the legendary first person to ever sleep inside the International Space Station! I was working as a test conductor on 3rd shift testing the US Lab module. I was inside the Lab module and in radio contact with the test guys outside. I was supposed to be monitoring or watching for something. It was boring and in the middle of the night (morning)......

And so began the ledged (urban myth?) that Rogillio was asleep in the US Lab module...and hence the first person to ever sleep in the US Lab Module.
