Swim
Comments: Started well and rounded buoy well, but on return swim ran into swimmings and sighted poorly What would you do differently?: Working sighting and stay on outside of pack on return swim Transition 1
Comments: Because of cold temps spent too much time adding clothing What would you do differently?: Ride without extra clothing Bike
Comments: I left some time on this course by having unzipped jacket that flapped on ride. Could have easily been top cyclist if I didn't overdress. What would you do differently?: Start ride out cold with fewer layers and no unzipped jacket Transition 2
Comments: Decent transition. Little slow, but not as bad as T1 What would you do differently?: Not much Run
Comments: Tried to start pace light and then work into it, but had some Achilles tenderness in 2nd mile climbs so had to back off. Had a decent closing mile, but wasn't able to attack the course like I had planned. What would you do differently?: Try to find hilly trail courses to practice on before this event Post race
Warm down: Not much - remove items from transition What limited your ability to perform faster: Mental - did not want to do this race due to cold temps. Caused me to overthink T1 and got me off to a slow start on swim Event comments: Good swag, great race director and staff. They fixed bike turn around from last year and so took away the missed turn issue. KPC runs a top notch race. Venue is challenging for veteran triathletes, so a good early season test where you are at. Would be nice if they added finisher medals and better win prizes besides a mug and certificate.
