Run
Comments: Awesome, awesome run. Started fast but held back enough in case things got tough late and I had to fight to stay under 1 hour. As the miles went on I very carefully lower the pace. It's always fun reeling runners in while executing this strategy well. With less than a mile to go I kicked it into gear and hammered down the finishing hill, holding off someone that I could hear trying to surge past me. What would you do differently?: Nothing, I negative split each 5k which is just awesome. Post race
Warm down: Waited for the guys to finish, then jogged back to the car, then to the YMCA to get some food before heading home. What limited your ability to perform faster: Perhaps I over dressed if I really wanted to go for my absolute fastest potential race, but I don't mind getting a little warm late if it means I'm not totally freezing to death to start. Event comments: First time doing this historic race (crazy, I know), and I really enjoyed it. I would definitely do it again. Last updated: 2017-12-23 12:00 AM
