Where can I open water swim? HP/Greensboro

Hello all, although I have completed a Sprint Triathlon, I am new to the sport. Even though I could swim in a lap pool for up to a mile, the open water 700 meter swim was a shock that I barely survived. lol

I live in the north High Point area near Greensboro and was wondering where someone could practice open water swimming in a lake.
