Fun morning. I signed up sort of last minute as one of my friends I have been helping for a year was signed up to do his first 1 mile OWS. We hung out for a few hours before the very late race start. I felt pretty good but was quite hungry when I was in the water. Had a slice of toast at 7am and a GU at 10:15, 10 min. before the start.

My sighting was meh and I was off course a bit as I swim right. I am really out of practice for racing and didn't really look at this as a "race".

I would have checked out the course and made mental notes on where each turn was as well as how the finish looked from the last 1/4 of the race. Overall it was just fine and I am happy with how I swam for where I am at.

Fun morning of swimming. Next year I am thinking I'll do the 5k.
