Hey guys/gals, I wanted to share my years of progression as an average age grouper of training and racing to the point where I qualified and competed in the Boston Marathon and my ultimate goal of competing in the Ironman World Championship. I did a couple of podcasts and race reports for full details if you want to listen/watch. I averaged about 18 hours of training leading up to my KQ and about 16 leading up to Kona IMWC. I am by no means super fast at any of the 3 disciplines but was able to train consistently and execute an average race and luck out on who showed up on race day. There is hope for those of you kind of on the fence about a KQ if you can commit to some consistent training.
I was also hit by a car two days prior to the IMWC if anyone wants to see the video.
