Event comments: Despite the threat of rain, it wasn't enough to keep 180 triathletes from doing what they love to do. Cool water, overcast skies, and below average temperatures did not dampen the competetive spirit of these weekend warriors as they competed in the 2nd Annual Half Moon Lake Super Sprint Triathlon. The record numbers went through the 1km swim, 30km bike, and 8km run like they would any other day, totally ignoring the elements in pursuit of their individual accomplishments. Congratulations go out to every one of them and a great big THANK-YOU to all the volunteers as with out them this race would not happen. Thanks also goes out to the Trigeeeks Canada Triathlon and Multisport team for all the behind the scenes work that makes an event like this so successful. Also thanks to all the companies who helped in providing all the door prizes for the athletes and volunteers. Special thanks goes to my wife, her family and my family for all the hard work they put into preparing and serving the food so that 300 athletes and volunteers could get enough to eat. Special thanks also goes to Half Moon Lake Resort, for letting 300+ crazy people in their park at 6:00 am in the morning. Looking forward to next years race, and untill then good luck with the rest of the season and I'll see you at the races. Lorie Loshack Race Director, Triathlete Last updated: 2004-07-25 12:00 AM
