Swim
Comments: Other than being 500m short, it was a good swim. Navigated well, never pushed, but felt like the best swim so far this year. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 1
Comments: Went well, out of the water and long run up the bank went well=. Got swimskin off easily. Sat down to putt on socks and shoes and wash off. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: Good bike. Went out comfortably hard, goal was to be 80-85% of FTW. ENDED up at 82% overall. Backed off a little on the 2nd loop to saver something for the run. Verity pleased with it. Had more in the tank, but I wouldn’t change anything. Only 45 sec faster than last time, which was disappointing, but i felt a lot better getting off the bike too What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 2
Comments: Good T2. Fastest in AG and 13th fastest overall What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: I was dreading the run, having blown up on it several times before. Goal was sub 48, so missed it, but not by much. Kept it steady, all between 7:50-8:30. Overall, I couldn’t have gone much faster, walked at the water stops to drink, sand up the hill on the 2nd loop What would you do differently?: Nothing. It’s a terrible course Post race
Warm down: Got some water, start in the shade for a few minutes and stretched and then drove home What limited your ability to perform faster: Heat Event comments: Great venue, always well done. BUT, the swim is ALWAYS short, and the run course is miserable. The swim should be an easy fix. And I’ve run this race with 2 other run courses which were both better than the current one. None. Got up, ate my oatmeal and banana, and drove to the Trace site. Had checked in my bike last night. Set up Transition, and headed to the start area
