Subject: RE: Athletes for a cure bike ride.I rode the course and drove it twice as well. It is not going to be difficult at all. The only real elevation changes is at the Cloverleaf. You have a sweeping uphill and overpass for that. This is not a course to ride outside of the race. The roads are three lane in each direction with no shoulder and crazed people half lost trying to get to Disney. Osceola Parkway is more of the same. Hopefully they will have the course blocked off well because even in the early morning hours traffic is heavy. Other than that the course is pretty flat and fast. I am not a great cyclist and I am injured right now and I had no trouble keeping a 21+mph avg while riding. Of course I did not just do the swim either. Navigation slowed me down but that should not be a problem on race day. Good luck hope to see some BT peeps there.
THe run course appears to be less of a trail run than this years 70.3 race that was there and pretty shady in spots as well. As for the water, it seemed pretty dark and dirty but I only walked in ankle deep to take a look. |
