Well, I think I can say I've finally been initiated on my bike.

It's quite apparent that I haven't mastered the balance of using my aero-bars and using my downtube shifters, especially while flying downhill -- that or I simply don't give myself enough room on the shoulder.  What's worse, it happened only 5 miles into my ride.  In true BT (& Clydesdale) fashion, got up and finished my my 24 mile ride.  The funny part?  Seeing the 5-foot long grey streak my gloves left on the blacktop 3 more times as I finished my laps around the lake.

looks awesome! Try not to scream to loud when you go take a shower and soap gets in it!  And yes good job on completing the ride you HTFU for sure.

Way to initiate the bike!  The legs will be painful for a day or so, at least dealing with the scabs etc.  It should look even more interesting in a day or two.  The positive is that you spared your hands.  Nice job finishing out the ride and not letting it stop your training.

Yeah, learned about the shower thing -- that was pretty crappy.  Aside from neosporin or something, anything I should do for it?  Think there'd be any issues swimming tomorrow?

Rings & chain were fine, but really dirty.  Handle bars and wheel were misaligned; muscled them straight again.  Aero bars took the brunt of it -- no more paint and some wicked scratches.  The bike overall isn't too bad, although there's a clicking noise, which I'm sure will be fixed once I clean the road-shoulder out of it Tongue out

Gnarly.

Pools are dirty.  You're asking for an infection until it either heals or scabs over, just depends on how you want to treat it.  Keep it clean and covered and you should be able to run/bike no problem though.
