I've been considering frame building as a hobby. Anyone thought of doing the same?

If so websites for tips please.

As Autumn noted, i'd love to try building a frame or 2. A friend of mine built a singlespeed for himself this spring, working with a friend of his who builds occasionally.

Here are some of the best sites i've found online.
Frame Forum, a collection of info for framebuilders, good information for frame design, looking at the tradeoffs of design, the effect of different angles, trail, etc.:
http://www.frameforum.net/

Suzy Jackson, who has build a couple of frames on her own:
http://www.atnf.csiro.au/people/Suzy.Jackson/frame/beginning.html

Framebuilders mailing list, lots of great and famous builders participate here, and good info for beginners too (read through the archives and lurk on the list a while):
http://www.phred.org/mailman/listinfo/framebuilders

For further study, check out some of the photo albums from Richard Sachs, a great framebuilder in Massachusetts:
http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/bobbesrs/
his site: http://www.richardsachs.com/

for pure bike porn's sake, i'll add the following:
http://www.vanillabicycles.com/
http://www.llewellynbikes.com/thegallery/index.php
especially this one:
http://www.llewellynbikes.com/thegallery/album03

lots more builders collected here, for further ideas on frames, stems, etc.

I'm with Bill..he's already posted all of the links I would've posted. I am probably going to do a steel frame soon, when I decide I need a break from the resurgent car projects that are currently taking my time. Two sources for tubing and other parts:

Yeah me too. Guess I am not a hard-core triathlete yet, despite the time I spent on BT.
