So, from what I can gather, the "everybody gets a trophy" crowd didn't like the ending and wants a redo? That's perfect! LOL
To answer your question, and provide a bit of a logic to those disappointed with the final episode
(and the last season
).
For the past seven seasons, about 10 years since it has started, there were plenty of different threads that
(presumably
) lead into something, as well as deep character developments, that were fascinating to watch. There was a lot of though and intellect put towards it. Most of it came from the writer of the books.
After those 10 years of analyzing their characters, scenes and events, the viewers had a certain level of expectations. In the final season, which took 2 years to create, and plenty of $$$, plenty of those threads and characters developments were just basically put aside as if the writers completely forgot
(or did not watch
) the previous seasons. There were many episodes in the past that would leave an audience shocked, disturbed, full of different emotions, fascinated, upset, angry, satisfied, etc.... The episodes of the last season were plain LAME. This is why folks who have been watching this show for the last ten years and have had certain expectations
(and they had the right to have those expectations, after 10 years!
), are frustrated, disappointed, and disgusted. You know, there was lot of potential in this show and it is hard to process how and why writers/producers with so much resources and support did such a poor job.
I hope it answers your question.
I couldn't agree more. The last two seasons have been such a sh**show, that I seriously doubt they even let Martin on the set at all. I can sort of understand Danaerys going nuts, because of genetics. She's the daughter of the 'mad king' after all, right? The rest of it, meh. At a bare minimum, we needed to see Cercei die a horrible, prolonged suffering death. Not just,"bam hit with a ton of bricks." REDO, where's that petition? I need to sign it.
