Abbotsford

Yea there was a tri in abbotsford couple years ago and Albert dyck lake, by the airport. But it was cancelled. I dont know why i was looking foward to doing that one.

last I heard, the RD had a baby and didn't have time to run the race anymore.

Well good for the RD, bad for me I just kinda strated training toward doing a tri next year and was looking forward to seeing this one for tips. I wish there was a tri clinic in Abbotsford. I keep bugging the running room out here but have had no such luck.

There was supposed to have been a tri clinic out of the Abbotsford Running Room that started in late January prepping for the Delta race. At the time I was interested as well, but it was on Monday nights which happened to be the only night I couldn't get out there. You'll probably have to wait till next winter now.

Well it may not be a tri clinic, but if anyof you guys wanna come out to the mission raceway on wensday nights there is a cycling club with a few Triathletes in it. Theres a 5 dollar drop in fee.

And do the cars chase you so you ride faster??

I live 10 mins from the track, just on the other side in Abbotsford. I don't have a road bike yet so what do you guys do for biking. Could I get away with what I have for now?

No, but last wensday there were guys setting the hay bales for road racing and a couple guys almost got hit by those '.

I have talked to the running room about the clinic. The guy that runs it is just a runner and from what I know he has never done a tri. He works with you on the running and gives you a plan for the bike. Then sends you for two weeks to train with the Masters swimmers at ARC pool. I know this because I work with girl who runs the swimming. She said there are a few guys in her class that do tri's and would be good to learn from. She went on scholarship to the states for swimming and knows her stuff as far as the swimming. For the running I stick to there clinics. I'll be doing the masters class on September when it starts.
