I am in Westchester County, NY (Pound Ridge). Anyone in the local area that has suggestions for training partners/groups?

the threads and treads people in Greenwich might have good leads-- they sponsor a ton of events, too, I am thinking about coming out east for the triathlon in sept

thanks. i've been there. didn't ask them that question though. thanks for the lead.

coming back east for the westchester tri? i am debating that vs. the montauk half the next week in october. haven't decided whether that is too lofty a goal for my first season. but if you have to do a half...that one seems like a good one since it's very flat out there...

The Greenwich Tri is a fun event.  It's a challenging bike course with some good hills in it, and a few technical turns.  The run is tough because the last 1/2 mile is across the soft sand of the beach.

thanks for the suggestions. i am a member of the WCC and met a few people thru there. Westchester tri-cub is made up of mostly ironman distance people. seems to me Westchester needs their own official tri-club for all distances/abilities.

Westchester definitely needs a tri club that is comfortable for people who do all distances....

If you are looking to run, the Wolfpit Running Club in Ridgefield isn't too far from you. They run Satrudays and Sundays from 5-10 miles. There are enough people that there is usually someone going your distance/pace. http://www.wolfpitrunningclub.org/

There is also a masters swim program in Ridgefield and there are members from Katonah and Bedford Hills that make the drive. They swim MWF 5:45am - 6:45 am.

I'm still looking for a good cycling group in the area but I hear Bethel has one (probably too far for you).

Not exactly a true triathlon club, more like a do-it-yourself club.
