Anything in particular going on? I havent done my first tri yet, but training for a 150 mile bike ride none the less and then will concentrate on the tri stuff.

I hope to hit a few real bike shops and maybe a running store that does some gate anaylsis.

Other than that I will be staying at the Crowne Plaza for a week, if someone wants to get together for an EASY bike ride - Im a big guy, and a newbie, or a dinner to meet let me know.

What dates are you going to be here? The Thursday swim is on for July 2nd (4:15 @ Wingra). I'm sure I'll be doing some other stuff, along with a lot of other folks....

This fellow clyde would certainly like to get involved in some local training, but since I work the night shift, its difficult for me.
Anways, less than two weeks to my first tri, and I need to get some bricks in, or at least just trying transitions, so I know what works for me!

Here's how the week is shaping up for me:

Monday - swim at lunch (indoors, $5 to join me), run after work (but on a schedule, to a certain destination)

Tuesday - swim at lunch (same deal)

Wednesday, short run a.m., long bike p.m. (You're welcome to join for either, but the run will be "when my husband gets home" and will be with a big dog.)

Thursday - 4:15 swim @ Wingra followed by 6:00 p.m. LUNA Chix bike ride

Friday - rest day

Saturday - long azz brick with Anna (Runs with Jasper) starting in the wee hours. You're welcome to join for all or part of it.

Are obnoxious little brothers going to be allowed to tag along?

I will be going for several early bike rides this week and you could join me on one of them.  I live on the east side near Milwaukee Street so you aren't all that far from me.

I will also be going for several runs early in the morning but in order to come with me for those you need to like big, slobbery, black dogs as Jasper usually joins me in the morning.

I usually leave at 5 or so as I have to be at work and non-sweaty by 7:30AM.  I could leave earlier if you wanted but biking is hard much earlier as it is pretty dark out.

My weekly workout schedule looks something like this in case you wanted to join me for one of them.

Monday morning - mountain bike ride starting at 5, ride to Y and swim 50 laps.  If time permits take scenic route to work after swim
Monday afternoon -- mountain bike ride home.  I usually take a side trip and stretch the ride to an hour or so.
Tuesday morning - run 8-10 miles, ride road bike to work.
Tuesday afternoon - bike home, road bike.  Take a side trip and make the ride an hour.
Wednesday morning - same as Monday morning.
Wednesday afternoon - same as Monday afternoon.
Thursday morning - run long and take car to work.
Thursday afternoon - group swim in Lake Wingra if childcare works out.
Friday morning - run then bike to work.
Friday afternoon - ride longish after work.
Saturday morning - long a** BRICK with the obnoxious little brother type tagging along if he can get his lazy self out of bed that early.  Anyone want to take bets?

Anyhow, if you wanted to join me with any of these you are pretty close so it wouldn't be that hard to arrange if you wanted to.  Just let me know.  I also sometimes do runs at lunch but I didn't see any on your training log so I don't know if you are too into running.

Where is this Lake Wingra that everyone speaks of?  I will now be in the area on the 2nd and 3rd previewing the IM course and wouldn't mind getting an OWS in.

It's right downtown, by the Arboretum, here's a map. I had a chance to swim there last week, it was decent compared to the other lakes, but I heard it got a bit nasty with the heat. Be sure to check the Lake Conditions thread before your visit!
