Hey hey hey!

There is a sprint tri in downtown Delaware, OH. It's shorter than normal and a pool swim

500yd pool swim
8 mi bike ride
5K run

29^th Annual Triathlon

This ?mini? triathlon is a popular endurance test for beginners as well as advanced athletes. The event begins with a 500-meter swim followed by an 8-mile bike ride and ends with a 3-mile run. The triathlon is open to males and females age13 and older. Trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers in each group and gender. Participants registering by the July 24 deadline will receive a T-Shirt. Pick up registration forms and a course map at the recreation office after June 5.

Day: Saturday

Time: 7:30 a.m.

Location: Jack Florance Pool @ Mingo Park

Res. Rate: $30

Non-Res. Rate: $45

**There is a walk-up fee of $15 for registering after July 24**

Lupa and I rode the course tonight- some really GREAT hills- both downhill and uphill. Hope to see some of you!

I got the scoop from Delaware Parks and Rec today- The race will be stopwatch timed. Every swimmer gets there OWN LANE and counters for the 500m swim. Each heat will be done by age group as close as they can (it just depends on the number of people they have. Last year it was 37).

You can come and swim at the Jack Florance Pool @ Mingo park for free from 6-7am M-F. Since everyone gets there own lane this would be a good first tri for any new people who do not like to OWS or just prefer the crystal clear pool.

This is not a USAT sanctioned race.

Lupa and I will be at the pool Tuesday AM. I'm sure she's cooked up a 40 min puke worthy workout. We can run the park after- one lap is a mile.

i like short bikes but can't do it this year - hopefully they will have it next year as well

You can drop off your registration at the Parks and Rec building- which is the north end of the pool complex. They are open 8am-6pm.

Cool thanks, I added the race to the race log, so anyone that is doing it can fill out an race report. I hope I see you there, it be nice to meet some Bt'ers at a race.

Sounds like this is a really, really small race. Do they mark the course, or have people out there. I dont need aid stations, but I like to know where I am going. I drove the bike course, and if your in lala land, your gonna miss some of these turns (like short cut road by the sheriff station). And when riding thru the city, is there officers to control traffic?

I would like to meet some of the BT'ers. Such a small race, it will easy to find each other. I will be the husky guy in white long sleeve shirt setting up my white, black, and gray Giant road bike with Roll waterbottles.

Hey there Scott!

I'll be in my BT gear, I think Lupa will be in green. We both swim with shorts/sports bras but I have some BT tattoos I might slap on.

I talked to parks and rec the other day. There will be Delaware cops closing intersections in town and the Sheriff's office closing them out of town. Looks like there will be between 30-40 people. I was 30th to sign up last Friday.

The pool is 23.5yds so if your stroke count is off- ITS NOT YOU! But the pool is clean so not too bad.

Are you local? There is a great group ride that meets Thursdays 6pm in downtown Delaware (behind Beehive Books). They have been going between 20-30 miles. I couldn't keep up on my first ride but everyone is really nice about it. My second ride was last night- really cool. (Drafting with a pack ROCKS! I was going 20-22mph and I've NEVER done that before!)
