I am starting to train for my first half IM. I am a former collegent runner and swimmer that took a few years away from compotetion. In the last year I picked up cycling and was bumped to Cat III racer. So I have high expectations and just want to make sure that I get everything right for my first try at a tri.

Thank you. I have done a number of sprint tri's and a couple of olympic tri's a number of years ago. After a long break and actually learning how to ride a bike and training for cycling events I feel much more comfortable on the bike. The half IM will definatly push my distance as far as the run, I really like 5K's and shorter. I hope that I can help out and be helped here. By the way I have done a few tri's in your area (ceaser creek, deer creek, little Miami, Shawnee).

I live in GA now, making the trip a little bit harder to get to. I still have some family that lives in KY so if I get a chance to visit them maybe I could squeeze in a tri. I would love to meet some of the people on this forum. We have many tri's in this area come on down and enjoy the warmer climate, altough today it is 14 degrees.

Where about in GA, I was stationed in Fort Stewart (hinesville and Savahnna) and Fort Gordon( Agusta). Took a while to get used to but I loved Savahnna. I can never remember it getting that cold there though. At both bases it snowed when I was there for the first time in 6 or 7 years and the civilians were freaking out.

I am on the complete opposite side of GA from Savanah, I live in Rome. Rome is in the north west corner, about 5 min from AL and 30 from TN. I love Savanah, esp. St. Simmons Island. We are looking at snow for tonight, the fun part at still being in the mountains.
