I considered it, but am running the Queens Half Mary that day.

Nice course - I rode it last year.  Just one hill.  Laughing

Many legends floating around about that hill. Including about the Pro who was walking his bike up. But come on.... it's only 14 miles...

Chris, I did not sign up as of yet - did not discuss it yet w/ significant other.  I want to see how I feel after Pine Barrens Oly - which looks like will be extra challenging due to weather - hopefully we pull it off in time before all hell breaks lose.  I am upped for War at Shore on 9/21 and Tri for Skate Park (Hightstown) for 9/28.  I filled out paperwork but did not mail it yet for my first half marathon at Sandy Hook, Oct 5.  That said - the Skylands 1 looks like fun and looks like nice water to swim in.

Bob, sounds like your plate is full... 6 consecutive racing weekends??

Hoping to see you at Skylands (the only one from your list that I'm doing; I may go to the Sandy Hook race, but only for the 5K).

i have an email into lin-mark checking on same day reg - and if there are openings, i will bring the wetsuit - assuming it will be wetsuit legal.  lake temps are likely in the lower 70s were i to guess.

bring the ws and assume you will likely be able to use it.  the air temps might get into the 90s during the run - unfortunately - good thing its just a 5k!

Speaking of that hill... is it that bad? Can you compare it with some other hills in other races? Could it be worse than the long hill at the end of  Buckman? Or than the hills at Black Bear?

This is my first time doing the race and I've just heard it's a tough, tough one. Don't think you're done when it turns to the right - you're not. It's super duper long. I've also heard that the downhill is straight, smooth and 4 lanes wide so it'll be fun!!
