Signed up!!  We're bringing a fairly large crew from the Greenville area.

Are you going as well?

Nope!  Sorry!

Did anyone else do the race?  We all had a great time.  It was pretty laid back, which was nice for a change.  Low numbers of entrants meant that most of us came out with a victory or 2nd place!  That was definitely nice for a change!

Rowotter the reason I asked is b/c a friend of mine told me his BNL is from Greenville and finished 5th.  I believe I was trying to chase him down on the bike when I had a flat.  He passed me and I watched him for a minute or two walk away and then I just told myself you got to HTFU this is a sprint dangit.  So I picked it up and I was very very slowly closing the distance back on him then bam I hit some glass and it was all over.  Anyhow it was nice to have him up there cause he was really pushing me.  I wished I could have finished but I will be back for revenge on the course next year.

I am not the 5th place finisher from Greenville.  However, he is a buddy of ours and we train quite a bit with him.  I think I finished 11th overall.  I was 1st in the swim though-I was pretty happy about that!

Did you flat on the first stretch before the first turn?  I believe I saw you out there in the field.  If I had known you needed another tube or CO2 I would have thrown you mine!

That was me, we (my training buddies and I) look at it as if you flat in a sprint/olympic its over with anyway so I just had to pull my big boy undies and regroup for the next race.  If yall ever want to get a good group ride up holler at us, we have a yahoo group for the Vicksburg cyclist called River City Cyclist and maybe we could put together a nice group ride.

Thanks for the offer!  We've actually mentioned trying to get down there sometime to ride so we could get some hill training.  Nothing larger than a levee up here...

We could put you on the toughest hill training ride in MS, it is called the Vicksburg National Military Park.

This Sat. the Vicksburg Swim Association is hosting a open water swim at Eagle Lake.  There are suppose to be some triathletes from Jackson coming over to do this.  A few of us Vicksburg natives are planning on riding with some of them after the swim, that is if we survive.  Yall welcome to come on down.

Thanks-unfortunately I and a bunch of our Tri-buddies have a big run this weekend.  Most of us are doing a training program for the Memphis marathon and have a 20 miler on Saturday...ugh.
