I'm at work.

There's no mandatory requirement to be here; the semester doesn't start for a week and the place isn't offically open for business.

But EVERYONE is here. Both my bosses, my bosses' boss, all my colleagues save one (and he's working at home and emailing people sporadically).

I gotta remember this the next time someone impugns the work habits of the education profession.

I was in today. My department manager came over and said, "you know, there aren't many other people here today, but we're here because we followed company rules. Well you know what, we're going out to lunch today."

So at least I got an almost two hour lunch out of showing up today.
