Subject: TRI Workout Music

I'm a newbie, and really enjoy reading the helpful hints from the vets, thanks!

I have a question.

Its a bit cold outside, and the weather is not very bike friendly. Its been this way for a few weeks and will probably be that way for a while. I've been training on the stationary at the gym. But, I'm finding that I'm getting very bored! Does anybody have any suggestions as far as music goes? Any good beats that help the miles go by? Anything that motivates you to keep on that bike? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

On the mix cds I've made for working out I notice I flip past anything that isn't pretty fast and loud...here's what I'm listening to yesterday/today:

Cracker
Radiohead
Iggy Pop
Cake
Ramones

Although for running Bela Fleck kicks ass. Don't know why but bluegrass makes want to run.

I would think that it would depend on what genre of music that you like! Give us some idea and we could offer you more suggestions.

dude...u gotta download some paul oakenfold and carl cox (trance, house)...constant 140 beats per minute...get the live mixes if possible...its like another heartbeat...

ps...if your actually interested...let me know...i'll send u about 10, 1hour long live mixes from the best clubs.

I am with Ron on the Paul Oakenfold.. and there are TONS of trance/techno artists to get you going. Infected mushroom is good too. I have been hooked on StaticX lately though. Let me know because I have about 7,000 songs on my computer and about 600 cd’s. And I notice that you live in Boise Idaho, I do to! We should get together and do some running! I'm all about the Static-X. If you like that sort of stuff you could try some Tool, or Rage Against The Machine. But if you are more of a popish kinda person, I'll suggest Maroon 5, Nickleback, and Fuel. Hope this helps keep your butt on the bike. ;-)

Michael,

I consider myself fairly open to new music and new ideas. However, I would consider myself to be polished, like I do like certain types of hip-hop, metal, grunge, and other types of fast music, but could do without the hardcore stuff.
I also love jazz, and my favorite singer of all time is blue eyes himself, Franky!
