I qualified by winning my age group in a sprint tri with a weak field (9th overall). I have no doubt that I can race the distance, and not just complete it. But I have looked at last year's results and have been blown away by the times in my age group. So my plan is to race as hard as I can and have FUN. There is an outside chance that I am first out of the water for my age group, but I feel comfortable that I'll be in the top 5. I'm racing my strength and relying on keeping my transitions short. It may well be the only chance I ever get to compete at Nationals, at least until I hit the 70-74 age group, so I won't be passing it up. |

I was just there a couple of weeks ago (when I picked up my race packet) checking things out. Cool place! I'm not the owner. I manage the retail operations. We're opening a second store in NW Portland (NW Vaughn) in November. It will be more convenient for Vancouver and Eastside customers. To go back on topic, despite my current lack of race fitness I think I'm going to go ahead and race. scott |

She was referring to the packet pickup for the Hagg Lake races that were held a couple of weeks ago. They held the packet pick-up at Athletes Lounge. scott |

And Scott, I am glad to know there will be a second location of AL. NW Portland is my old neighborhood and much easier for me access. Good thinking!
