Look, we need to do something, philly represents, but there are a lot of triathletes in the allentown, bethlehem, easton area.  Philadelphia is way too far to commute just to work out with some individuals or groups.  I believe it is even too far for one day clinics personally...
The lehigh valley offers one of the best open water swim locations around in dutch springs (1.3 mile course), there are tons of runners in the ABE area, and the valley has incredible locations to bike.  We need to start something up...I don't know what to do, or what it entails to start up a club.  All I know is I want one in the valley.  I was thinking of names and I thought of two.  "ABE Tri" and "LVTC Lehigh Valley Tri Club".  Let me know if you are from "The Valley".  It is time to represent!

I'm not in the LV area but on the most western side of Montgomery County.  I'd be interested to see what happens with your club.  I go to Dutch Springs for training in the summer.
Best of luck!

I might be moving to the area in January and would definitely be interested in joining a tri group in the Lehigh Valley.  Please keep us up to date if a group gets started.

Hi,

There is a small tri club, but you have to be a member of the Bethlehem Community Center to join. I'd be interested if something were available.

HI
just saw the thread on the quest for a lehigh valley tri club - that would be great.  I too know of the one club that is actice and it is based at the Beth community center - it would be great to have something bigger and or combined.  It might be worth contacting them as well as some other surrounding clubs to see how to get it all going.  Any other interest or ideas or progress?

I am glad to see an interest in forming a Tri club in the valley. Where does it stand? Have you officially started one? I am an ART (Active Release technique) provider in the valley and would be willing to offer FREE ART treatment pre and post races if you should form a club. Keep in touch with me as I am training for my first half marathon this Sept and wish to do sprint tris next year. If the valley does not have a club we definitely should form one soon.

Keep your eyes out. I understand that a new tri club will be announced late this week and details and a website will be available. I think they will be doing a membership drive at the Steelman Triathlon on Sunday.

High Road Cycles also has a great club. They're based out of Doylestown, but have some members (including myself) in the Valley. I've met a lot of great people in only my first few months w/ the club.

Macungie & Emmaus, PA
Subject: RE: attention all triathletes in the lehigh valley!!!

Hi all,

I wanted to introduce myself since people are asking about triathlon / multisport clubs in the Lehigh Valley.  I'm the owner and head coach of
Endurance Multisport, LLC, an endurance sports coaching business located in Macungie and Emmaus, PA, and my wife Erica and I founded the Endurance Multisport Club (ENMU) this summer.  Our goal is to be the premier tri club in the region, finally bringing together ALL types of endurance sports athletes with ALL levels of experience throughout the LV and surrounding areas.  The Club is open to EVERYONE, not just our coached athletes.  We want to create a fun, social atmosphere among our ENMU Club members, whether it's during training, competition, or hanging out at a Club party.

I'm glad Chris already provided a link to some of our information (above); a few of you have already contacted me about the Club.  Our
Forum is active, and a great way to reach out to other members in your community to arrange training or just ask questions of other experienced athletes (note: you need to be a registered ENMU Club member to register for the Forum).  Our Endurance Multisport Training Center is hosted by Lehigh Valley 24-7 Fitness Westend facility, and all of our ENMU Club members are eligible for *very* substantial savings on any length membership to all 4 of their locations.  More benefits already exist and many more are to come as we continue to expand our membership and sponsor bases.  Group training schedules are being put together and will be announced in the near future.

To join, you can click
HERE.  Membership is only $65 through March 1, 2011.  Please tell any other triathletes, duathletes, runners, cyclists, swimmers, and so on that you know about ENMU...this is how a Club grows!

Thanks for your interest, and if anyone has any questions please feel free to email me directly at
[email protected].
