Subject: Happy Eid al Fitr!In my country of origin (Indonesia) and all over the Islamic world, this is like Christmas to the Western world ... even non-observant Muslims and non-Muslims for that matter all join in the celebrations. The two days following the month of fasting are a time of returning home, reuniting and reconciliating with friends and family, giving gifts, and of course ... EATING!!!!!!!!!! It is also traditional to ask for forgiveness and grant it, so to all my friends on BT, in the spirit of the holiday, I ask you to forgive any wrongs I may have committed, and for you I wish peace, strength, and blessings. I am home with my parents, and my siblings and their spouses and all their children and their children's SO's and my father's relatives in Jakarta will begin feasting tomorrow (many celebrations have begun tonight, like Christmas Eve).
