Hello.

I've biked, swam, and run off and on for many years, and have decided to put all three together.

Looking for other like minded people as well as more experienced than I for tips/hints/etc.

Biking is my strongest area, swimming I have endurance but lack speed, and running somewhere in the middle.

My Goals:

Complete the 'short' version of the LTF Triathlon in Minneapolis in July.

Hello to everyone else here!

-Chris

Having trained in all areas in the past will be a great advantage for you.  I am sure that you will do well in your first tri.  Welcome to the T-Spot!

Endurance is the key. not speed.  Sprint is a relative term.  You'll be out there an hour and a half (if you are an honest mortal).  Just keep moving.  And then, tell us about it.

Welcome Chris!

I envy your endurance in swimming. My best qualification in swimming is that I have figured out how to float and am now swimming laps.

Good luck, have fun

Welcome Chris,

Reading your intro, doing a tri won't be to much of a problem for you I think.
Enough "crazy" people here

Have fun training,

Welcome Chris - you've got a jump on things. Lots of Chicago region folks here - maybe see you in Galena sometime. The tri is closed for this year - got to really register early for that one. Great to have you with us.

Wow, quite the welcome!

Lots of information to digest re training plans etc. There certainly is a plethora of information out there.

I find I'm not much of a morning person, so I currently do most of my training in the evening ( except on weekends ).
I can get up at 6 for work, but much earlier than that, and I just slog through the day.

I work as a computer programmer ( well, in charge of a team of programmers now ), so my motivation is to keep in
shape, and I've been doing strength/cardio training regularly for the last year now, and am ready to apply it to a goal.
When I was younger, I always wanted to do a tri or something, but never did. Now I'm in better shape than I was ever
before, so it's time to realize that goal.

Thanks for the welcome everyone, and I'll move over now to the tech/training forums for the rest of my questions. :-)
