58cm bought new off ebay in 2006, as an early release (it's a 2007). Switched it over to a triathlon bike, as that is all I do. Has less then 2000 miles on it, it is mint, really hardly broken in. It's my baby! Just too big...my first new bike ever- made the mistake of getting it too big! I'm only 5' 9" and it's just a hair too big. Ridden it for 2- 1/2 ironmans, and multiple other races, and it's time to pass it on!
Stock Veulta XRP wheels are perfect, the toughest road wheels I've ridden yet, with new decals I got from the factory (I decided to try and clean the brake surfaces, which are in perfect condition, and the black gunk got on the white stickers). 7000 series aluminum Frame is almost perfect- shinny and clean. One large scratch right next to the crank in front of the rear wheel, from my super old school trainer. Original seat is perfect. 105 rear derailer is perfect, triple (27 spd 52/42/30?) FSA crank is smooth and solid. Kinesis carbon fork takes up all the shock from road vibration.
Few straches, never crashed. This bike was really fast...but I made it so much faster...
I am including a Spinergy front full carbon wheel (we can talk about the rear),
full TT Ritchey probiscus areo bar/base bar combination (Proffessionally installed by Earls Cyclery),
with full carbon Cane Creek TT brakes,
and 9 speed Ultegra bar end shifters.
As well as new cables (100 miles on them),
a profile design fast forward seat post,
original seatpost,
and orginal pedals. (shimano pedals pictured not included)
Upgraded Hutchinson 700x20cc kevlar tires, with about a 800 miles on them.
Does not include original Tiagra STI shifters, bars, or stem (well, maybe, let's talk about the stem if you really want it).
All in all, the bike retails for $1399 (http://www.motobecane.com/MBUSAven05.html), I bought it for $800, plus the aero set up (seat post, bars, shifters, levers, install) @ $450+, plus the awesome spinergry wheel valued at $400+ (ebay) = approx. $1700. It is truely worth that! I averaged 19+ mph in my last 1/2 ironman, and it helped me secure many top 20 rankings!
It's not for everyone, but this bike would make a KILLER first tri/TT bike.
email @ [email protected] or pm. I would like to sell locally, VT, Upstate NY, NH, lower ME, Northern Mass. Will deliever within about 150 miles of Poultney, VT or Fairfax, VT for price of gas.
I would like to get a grand ($1000) for all or best offer, as I want to basically get the same bike and build it up again....only in a smaller size!!!! It breaks my heart to sell it. It is just such a great bike!
