Hi teammates Not sure how much I'll be posting on here during the holiday month, but I'll be in and out I'm sure. Trying to go for 20 bike sessions - mostly trainer rides or spin class as the vast majority of my weekends are pretty much booked up all ready, so I don't know if I'll be able to get outside at all. Esp. if it's too cold.

Hi Dancers,

I'm looking forward to this challenge. I so want to get the food thing under control. My limiter/challenge is to plan my food and eat to plan 20 days this month. I'm optimistic and really committed because I'm so frustrated. I do great during the day, then eat my way through the evening. Just habit and I can retrain my habits.

Good luck, all!

Mary

Hi Everyone! Are we Reindeer Dancers or Pole Dancers? Just tying to get this straight!

My limiter is eating way too much junk.  So I am logging my intake on www.myfooddiary.com at least 25 days in December. My goal is to not go over the amount of calories to ensure a weight loss of 1.4 lbs/week (it is all calculated there...).

I am going to cut and paste my daily report from that site into my training log each evening before bed! So look for it! And feel free to harass me if needed! I am planning on being thinner after going through this holiday season!

Let the games begin!

Hey Team -

My name is Stacie and I am going to work on Nutrition in this challenge. This is my 3rd Challenge for the month of Dec so hopefully all three will help me lose the last 10-12 lbs or at least keep me in check so that number doesn't rise during the holidays.

Goal is 22 out of 31 days (the holidays and a cheat day each week if needed) with calories between 1500-1700. I will use the website my daily plate to track my calories.

We are going to rock team.

Stacie

Hi Dancers-

I'm Cynthia, an accomplished triathlete of one season.  My goal is core workouts - I've got a nasty cough right now and my abs hurt from all the coughing - does each coughing spell count for a core session?

It looks like Mary, Stacie and myself have similar goals! I have been logging all my food today. It is pain to do the first time but it will get easier. I am planning on being on track all month!Chrissy - we should have fun being on the same team!Cynthia - I don't know if coughing counts! lol But I am sure it hurts!

First bike ride tonight, folks! My monday night spin class run by an actual triathlete.

I am hoping to eat better this month as well, though I'm not really logging it or anything.

Hi Dancer Team:

Sandi here. My goal is 14 strength/core workouts in the month of december. I'm starting today with a bodypump class at the gym. Since I hate doing weights and core work, I find it easier if I do it as part of a class, so most of my workouts will be either bodypump class or mat pilates class.

Good luck team!!

So far so good with logging my food - but I haven't ate much (maybe a side effect of eating a lot this past weekend) so I am going to have to watch that more carefully.

Good luck and good job so far.

Chrissy -

I am sure the few of us in this challenge that are logging can try to help and keep you in line if you want to log it.

I have to get through all of the Thanksgiving leftovers first...as it was, I sent a bunch home with my sister (who lives nearby) and made a turkey pie out of a good chunk of it. Luckily, there's nothing inherently wrong with plain turkey and brussell sprouts are good for you

I just posted my first daily report in my training log!

I got to eat a ton of food so I have no idea how I gain weight normally...oh...that must be the soda and cookies...

Well anyway, I am not too hungry and had a good day full of nutritious foods!

Now we get to do it again tomorrow!

Count me in for similar goal.  I have been eating whatever I want lately and that isn't working out too well.  Especially with lighter workout schedule in the off season.  My goal is to log my food and stay within my ww points for the day 27 out of 31 days this month.  I actually started on Saturday and I'm in the groove and on a roll.  I would also like to lose 5 or so lbs and think I can do it.

Go Dancer's!

I stayed in the 1500-1700 before exercise today. I cheated at supper and had a small piece of chocolate cake which almost put me over the limit but it was like the size of a cupcake. Another day tomorrow - with more healthy food.

I got my first strength/core workout session in today with a bodypump class at the gym.  Increased the weight that I usually do for the squats, so we'll see if I'm sore tomorrow.

Bump.

No riding today, teammates. "Ran" this morning with the buddy I am helping to train for a 10K while I rehab what is supposedly tendonitis in my knee. Choir practice tonight from 7:30 to 9:30 - I work until 6 and it takes me awhile to get home and then get to practice. Not enough to get in a worthwhile trainer ride, esp. since I'll need to inhale some dinner before practice.

Stacie - very cool on the Christmas list!! It beats the post-it notes I have on my desk with everyone's name on it!

What do I do? Cut and paste it into my log?

I am hungry.  I figure I can eat 2500 calories today and still lose weight.  And I am still hungry!!!  It's not like I am starving myself!  And I still need to go home and ride that trainer... I can do this.

I'm always hungry. Esp. when I am training a decent volume (unlike now). But sometimes you just have to ignore it, otherwise, you'll end up eating more than you actually need. I used to drink a lot of water and that seemed to help. Need to get back into that habit.
