Boy, I registered at 8:55 this morning, and I wasn't even close to being first.  50 others had already registered.

Yep..me too. It will be interesting to see how early it sells out this year. Almost 100 signed up already between the sprint and oly. It would be nice to see it sell out before Year end, but I doubt it. I am sure there is a surge right now..then nothing until Jan/Feb. I can't remember when it sold out last year?? march-ish?

One of my favorite races, but it's too early now for me to decide, I might be doing a HIM around that time...

Larry: Any changes to the course expected this year (NJST or Black Bear)?

The only change thus far is we are most likely going to be able to move Black Bear transition to a field that puts you MUCH closer to swim exit. We've tried to do it in the past but the park resisted but I'm almost sure they will allow it this year.

That will slightly alter the courses as far as starting and finishing but the basic courses will stay the same.

Suhweet on that change. That 1/4 mile run UPHILL after the swim at BB was a bit of a sub-challenge last year. By the time I got to my bike..my heart was pounding. Not good to start off on that bike ride with a heart rate in the 150s It only gets worse..quickly.

After Sunday's muddy transition area... Please don't set up the BB transition on the grass!! You could set it up at the bottom of the parking lot, right after the bathrooms, that's close enough from the beach, and people can start riding right away.

Yep..start riding UPHILL. Might as well get it started sooner than later, right???
I guess I would rather ride than run uphill..so its an improvement.

How do you know how many are signed up?  Is there an entrant list somewhere?

I want to sign up for Black Bear, but I'd want to hold off until the risk of it selling out is near.

They won't allow set up in any of the parking lots so we'll be in the grass! It's pitched toward the water so run off will be good. The other thing people might like is we'll have to eliminate "Heartbreak Ridge"...the hill right before the finish line. I personally thought it was a nice touch to the race but after battling those hills I can see how crawling over that last one could be a little much.

Heartbreak Ridge? What's that? Did I miss it? I can name all the hills on the bike course, but don't remember any running hills near the finish line....

When I registered on lin-mark.com it had a button for checking who registered.  I jsut went there now to see if the button is available solo, but I did not see it.  You might want to search there.

My guess is it is when you make the right onto Jefferson.  On the 1/2 course you don't make the right on the first lap, just the 2nd lap.  And the sprint does it that hill also.

Now if we can get Larry to take out Lovitt Rd (I did not love-it).
