I'll be traveling from Colorado to participate in this race. Just wondering if any other BT'rs might be there. Also if anyone has done this before, can you tell me anything about it?

I have done this race several times and will be doing it again this year.  The race is very well organized year after year just like all of the races run by our local track club so that shouldn't be an issue at all.

The course in the past has been 100% flat, but this year it has been adjusted because of construction on one of the trails.  There may be a hill soon after mile one and depending upon which street they chose it might be a very steep one.  I'll have to check on that.  After that it will be very flat following the river until about mile 10 or 11 where there will be a hill that is about 100' of gain at about 7% grade.  This is on an out and back section so you will turn around and go back down the same hill.  Then you will be on the flats again until the finish.

So it won't be the blazing fast course it has been in the past, but it should be overly agonizing either.  Let me know if you have any other questions.

I'm not aware of it.  I know of the Med City Marathon, but that's not until May.  Perhaps you could post the details, or a link.  Thanks.

This one's a 'maybe' for me.  Have never done it, but the summer activities usually slow down for us in August, and this would be a great race, provided it's not too hot...

Thanks for adding the links. This will be my first 1/2. I've heard it is a pretty fast course, and am hoping the weather is good. I'm figuring that running at 900 ft should be very nice for me seeing as my daily runs are at 5280. If anyone is doing this, let me know. I'd love to meet some BTr's from Minnesota. I'll be there with my wife and daughter.

We can try to organize something a little closer to the date.  In the mean time I will be trying to match your lung capacity by spending a week in Breckenridge next week.  But in reality I'll just spend the week out of breath, dehydrated and sleeping poorly.

Good grief!  Someone slap me.  I'm seriously considering doing this race.  Nevermind that I suck at running.  Nevermind that my longest run ever was about 9 miles.  Nevermind that the race is 2 weeks after Waseca, which I expect to kick my azz.  I need my head examined.

My son Zach (6yrs old) and I will be the Official MCs for the Rochester 1/2 Marathon. I will have my PA System, IPod, and I will be cheering you all on and doing my best Jerry McNeil impression during the event. I really enjoy announcing events. It should be fun!
