Subject: RE: Anyone doing the Rochester 1/2 MarathonI have done this race several times and will be doing it again this year. The race is very well organized year after year just like all of the races run by our local track club so that shouldn't be an issue at all. The course in the past has been 100% flat, but this year it has been adjusted because of construction on one of the trails. There may be a hill soon after mile one and depending upon which street they chose it might be a very steep one. I'll have to check on that. After that it will be very flat following the river until about mile 10 or 11 where there will be a hill that is about 100' of gain at about 7% grade. This is on an out and back section so you will turn around and go back down the same hill. Then you will be on the flats again until the finish. So it won't be the blazing fast course it has been in the past, but it should be overly agonizing either. Let me know if you have any other questions. |
