Champion  10157    Alabama |  Subject: No collusion or conspiracyThe House Intel Committee exonerated the Trump campaign and have concluded there was no collusion or conspiracy with the Trump campaign and the Russians. As expected, it is being spun as partisanship. The problems with that is there are dems on the committee and if they had any evidence of collusion/conspiracy then you would have to believe the republican covered up or ignored that 'evidence'. I have a hard time believing the republican on the committee would risk their political careers and to protect Trump. So now it all comes down to Mueller. IF....still a big if, Mueller also concludes there was no Trump/Russian collusion or conspiracy I expect the media to have a meltdown. For over a year the talking heads have been certain the only way Trump won was because Trump got help from the Russians. Will they eat their words? Not a chance! Somehow they will spin it and point to the 13 Russians, Manafort's old money laundering and Flynn's and Papadopoulos lying to the FBI and claim that what they have been saying all along. That would be the best case for the left. The worst case is if the DOJ appoints a second special counsel and they find that Hillary and the DNC actually colluded with the Russian and Comey, Rice, et al broke the law trying to get Hillary elected. Unless they can prove unequivocally there was a quid pro quo with Trump's campaign and the Russians, they won't be able to prove collusion/conspiracy. The obstruction cases kinda fall apart if there is no underlying crimes. I heard last night that there never should have been a SC anyway as the law for SC says there has to be a specific crime they are investigating evidently there was not. It was a SP appointed to find a crime. Backasswards as we say in Alabama. |

I'm not saying there is anything to find. But when they wrap up their investigation without bothering to interview Manafort, Gates, Flynn, & Papadapolous, it kind of seems like they weren't really looking very hard. |

I've voted Democrat before, and always considered myself issue based when it came to politics......not anymore. I'll NEVER vote for a democrat party candidate again. For the majority of his career he was a prosecutor and district attorney. If he says they found no evidence of collusion or conspiracy I believe it. He is has said all along that Mueller should continue his investigation. That hardly sounds like someone in the tank for Trump who would suppress evidence. Having said that, all that means is the House did not find any Trump/Russian conspiracy. Meuller has a blank check and 2 dozen lawyers working trying to find any criminality.....and has the power to threaten witnesses with jail time for their crimes if they don't turn on Trump. It is 2018 and if you could not find evidence of a crime after 14 months of investigation (of the 2016 election), countless interviews and hours of testimony either there was no crime or you are totally inept and should resign. I think dems just need to shut up on this and let Mueller carry the bag. Dems like Schiff just look like whining kids crying because they didn't get their way. But I think most people will agree that if you can't find a crime after 14 months and countless interviews and hours of testimony you just aren't going to find a crime. Schiff is understandably sad/angry because has lost his relevance and lost his voice. He has been on TV more last year than Wolf Blitzer! I know why the news media wants to keep talking about Trump/Russian-gate, money. They are playing the songs their viewers want to hear. Unfortunately, in doing so I think they have squandered what little credibility they had left. I don't think it is still good politics in 2018 to be beating the Trump/Russia drum. Polls show nobody cares! No one want to relive the 2016 election. |

Schiff doesn't seem to put much stock in Mueller: "“We can’t simply rely on Bob Mueller,” he concluded. “Because his job is different than ours. His job is to determine who broke the law and who should be prosecuted and who should go to jail. It’s not his job to tell the country what happened. And outside of an indictment, he may not be able to speak. That’s what the Congress is supposed to do. So there’s no substitute for Congress doing its job.”" Schiff is a weasel IMO. Over a year ago he said he had 'seen evidence' of Trump/Russian collusion. Yet after 14 months they have yet to show what that 'evidence' is. IMO the only thing Schiff is concerned about is Schiff. The investigation has given him a national spotlight with the ever eager anti-Trump media to get on TV. Doesn't matter that he never had new information, all he has to do is speak in generalities and innuendos and the media salivates. So now he seems to be suggesting that Mueller's investigation is only looking for crimes but the House is looking for "what really happened" as if between the FBI, DOJ, IG, Senate and Special Council are incapable of finding the truth. |
