Just saw this.  It sounds a little like USADA saying "We're going to do it...we're going to release it...just you wait..."

http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2012/10/10/anti-doping-agency-to-release-evidence-against-lance-armstrong/

Why now?  That's kinda strange don't you think?  Why not several weeks ago?

I think they're still trying to prove their case.  Even though they already "won".

TriTalk is already on it. USADA is releasing the case like everyone wanted and they said they were going to do.

http://www.usada.org/cyclinginvestigationstatement.html

And the one I have been waiting for... Hincappie releases a statement and admits to doping.

http://www.georgehincapie.com/news/Statement-from-George-Hincapie/

USADA said in their statement they have testimony from him as was speculated. Big George was the only one that mattered. Coming from him, it's a done deal.

It is going to look even more ridiculous for Lance's actions with the Federal case for a stay and taking his ball and going home when all his team mates stood up and did the right thing.

So I guess the 6 month delay was true.  But the TDF was in July and it's only been 3 months...

No, it's at Juan Pelota Cafe.  They use it to make the coffee stronger.

By the way, their coffee really is exceptional.  It's like it's laced with EPO...

OK... so now I totally don't get it.

George had to have told Lance he testified. Either to the Fed investigation or USADA. Lance had to have known the others testified. So then why deny this to the bitter ends...? He had to have known George holds weight and that people would believe him... no tot mention the others.

Also... if USADA's evidence is what it says it is... then why was the Fed case dropped? The Fed case was about systematic doping by the team. We will see what USADA has over the coming days, but why the Feds dropped their case is a head scratcher.

I mean the Fed case might not have met a burden of proof needed for criminal conviction, but it seems it does. And if the Feds decided to drop this because USADA said they would.. "take it from here"... then that is an even bigger waste of money.... what is the point of investigating if you are not going ot do anything?

the feds are not the ones that dropped their case.   They were told to drop it by a newly elected official.. the news came out of no where to them also.   They were proceding with things and had just as much if not more than the USADA case and presto,, "sorry guys drop it"

Sure... there is that. I did/do not know that, but I always thought it was possible that someone stepped in to keep Lance from spending time in a Fed pen. If indeed he is disgraced and stripped of his titles, then that is probably small compared to time and a felony. This still opens LA up to a ton of litigation.

I read some pages of it starting in the middle somewhere and it was basically over two pages of he said/she said that he/she might have been carrying something.  I am not planning on reading the whole thing, but I thought their was supposed to be proof, not hearsay.

I'm not sure how it goes either. Supposedly there are over 1000 pages... this just seems to be the report. I assume the rest is the evidence. I wanted to read actual testimony... and it seems I will be able to, but that report does not have it.

I read a lot of statements such as.. there could be no other conclusion... no body think otherwise... that is not proof... but even a 5 year old knows that. So right now I assume there is all the actual factual evidence to support what is said.  I mean 7 team mates did testify so I assume there is actual transcripts.

All I care about is George and Levi, and from what was stated in the report, they spilled all the beans.

Not me, any more.  Disappointing about Lance, really disappointing about Levi and especially George.

But I don't think Lance invented doping and it sounds more and more like all the top guys in that era were doping, so I don't think there's any going back and fixing it now.  Likely that UCI will go ahead and strip Lance of his TdF titles, but it still seems to me like he dominated the field in a fair and even competition (which is to say, everybody who mattered was juiced).  If he'd beaten a bunch of clean riders it would be a different story.

I'm glad the culture is changed now, I think that will be more effective than any enforcement actions.

This Just In!

I was in Mellow Johnny's yesterday and the 7 yellow jerseys are still there.  Let's see them try to take those down.  Oh, and Lance marked all over them with a sharpie, so let's see them try to clean that out of them...

So, when's the WADA gonna bust Eddie Mercx?  He doped on grand tours, was caught a few times.  Where's his shame?
