Subject: Nutrition tracker and fat calories
I logged some nutrition for the day and noticed that the fat calories were way off: 17.28 grams of fat were being listed as 374 calories. That's over 21 calories per gram. Seems a bit high.

Edit: I think I understand the calculations now. The fact that one of my foods, which was almost all carbs, had no detail threw it off. It seems to look at the totals for the fat, carbs, and protein, figures out the percentages, and then assign that percentage of calories. It would be nice if it used the total weight to figure out the calories from each. Example, fat calories are computed from the number of grams of fat. I understand the drawback is that the calorie count of the individual components probably would not add up to the total calorie count from the nutritional label.

Your correct, I logged your same meal but without the custom foods, I used the USDA english muffin...works fine.

The fact that you didn't assign the basic grams of carbs, protriens and fat for your custom food of english muffin threw it off.

When you create a custom food, you can't just put in 130 calories...it's going to throw the calculations off...even though you know those 130 calories goes to carbs (the bread) it still needs you to assign the 'grams' to it in the custom food part of the 'carbohydrate by difference' input...also put in the grams of anything else just like the nutrition label.
