Swim
Comments: Felt really good in the swim, I hit my target time right on the nose and I'm very happy with the result. It was COLD though. What would you do differently?: Wear full sleeve for anything under 70 degree water temp. Transition 1
Comments: This is a very long entry into and out of t1. But still this is slow for me. I felt really dizzy and I was freezing so it was hard getting my shoes and socks on and suit off then helmet. What would you do differently?: Wear full sleeve wet suit. transition was set up great, but I was really cold and dizzy so it made my transition slower. Maybe could have run faster out of t1? Bike
Comments: Bike felt good. Fast. Again didn't want to go all out bc of the run coming up but still felt like I rode hard. Feet were frozen solid and really couldn't feel them. That may have hampered power to the pedals? Who knows, I was pretty happy since I wanted a 1:07-1:09 bike split. What would you do differently?: maybe ride a little bit harder bc the run was pretty good afterwords. Transition 2
Comments: I wanted to be a little faster here. I should have been around 2 mins. Don't know what happened. Maybe I didn't run fast enough into transition area bc once I racked I was out of there. Still my feet were frozen making running very hard! Run
Comments: Again didn't know how fast I could go after all the other splits, but I followed my race plan perfectly. Got my legs back in miles 1 and 2, then started to pick it up in miles 3 and 4 and turned it on in miles 5 and 6. Didn't feel my feet until mile 3. That hurt. I thought I had a rock in my shoe but it was feeling coming back on my heel. I am very happy with this run since I wanted to do in 50 mins. What would you do differently?: I think try and run a little faster, I am totally capable of running 7:30's for 6.2 miles. That would have made a huge difference. Post race
Warm down: Walking around chatting with friends at the finish. What limited your ability to perform faster: cold, uncertainty of effort over the distance so I metered my pace accordingly. Event comments: This is one of the best races there are in terms of organization and volunteers. The volunteers are so fun and helpful. It was a great race for the season opener. Since this is Tri NW team club championships, I was very happy for my top 10 finish!!! It is more than I expected! Last updated: 2008-03-06 12:00 AM
