Subject: Cedar Creek Lake Triathletes

I realize this is wild card here, but are there any triathletes in the Cedar Creek Lake area (Mabank, Gun Barrel City, Tool, Seven Points, Kaufman, Kemp, Canton, Athens, Malakoff, Eustace)? I moving out there this weekend, it's a "bubba" country. It's an hour from Dallas and Tyler.  Looks like the nearest place to swim at is in Athens at the Cain Center. I'll be in the process of coming up with a OWS course soon and hopefully find some decent bike routes.

I moved to Oak Cliff 2 years ago from Malakoff. My wife and I handbuilt our lakehouse and lived there for 2 and a half years. I could not stand the commute to Dallas and sold the place. I lived 200 yards from the lake and swam there for all but January and Febuary. Check out the Athens YMCA Tri in March at the Cain Center. Good race, was my first. Not sure if the Bike course is still Chip Seal roads though. Be careful on your rides out there on the county roads. The Rednecks are a pretty good aim with empty beer bottles! Good luck!!
