Subject: Swim shorts for men

Sorry if this question has been asked before - if it has feel free to redirect me to the thread.

Are tri shorts the way to go for most tri athletes? Do they perform well in the water? Are they OK in chlorine? Does anyone have an opinion as to the best ones?

 Thanks!!

Tri shorts are good for swimming, biking, and running and can be worn under a wetsuit.  They have a thin pad that dries out quickly for biking and doesn't get in the way for the run.  Chlorine will damage them in time, so while an occasional use in the pool is okay, they shouldn't be your standard training attire for pool swimming (many recommend jammers for pool training).  You'll get a lot of opinions about best brands, but a lot depends on the individual for fit.  I have had good luck with DeSoto, but I am a Clydesdale - your physique may be different and suited better to other brands.  Good luck!
