Subject: swimming drillsI am new at this and need some clarification...what do all of the numbers mean when describing a drill? For example: Drill Set 1: In a 25 yard pool, swim 10 x 25’s - 12.5 yds with your face out of the water, and 12.5 yds regular freestyle. In other words, swim half the length with your face out of the water and half regular freestyle. Take 15 seconds rest between each 25.When you begin to feel comfortable with Drill Set 1, then challenge yourself and move up to Drill 2. Drill Set 2: 10 x 50’s…swim 25 yds face out, 25 yards regular freestyle. Take 20-30 seconds rest between each 50. Remember, this can put added stress on your neck and lower back so feel free to wear fins until you feel comfortable without. I am guessing that in drill one you are swimming 10 lengths of a 25yd pool and in drill 2 you are swimming 10 complete laps of the same pool or 50 yds 10 times? Just want to make sure I am clear.
