Burns Park 10K - Run

![]() Run
Comments: Like I said - went out too fast, but managed to sill post a decent time. Charles and trixie were great. Charles took my jacket when I started sweating to death about mile 3 (which resulted in some acrobatics with the race number, and trixie paced me through the last .2 of the run so I finished strong. I LOVE THE MICHIGAN MAFIA. What would you do differently?: NOT go out for the first 2 miles at a 7:40 min mile pace! ![]() Post race
Warm down: Not too much of an issue temp wise since it was still freezing. Some light streching and then breakfast at Angelos. Then on to the 15 mile bike ride on Huron River Drive. What limited your ability to perform faster: Too fast at the beginning, and I am nursing either a shin splint or some sort of bruise on my left shin Event comments: It is GREAT to do races with the Michigan Mafia! Woke up around 5:30 AM, got stuff packed in the car for the day, and drove to Ann Arbor. Arrived around 8 am. Met trixie, charles and fromer (and his sister) and registered. That was when I decided to do the 10K. After that we stood around and tried desperately to stay warm.
Not much of a formal warm-up. It was really more an effort to try and stay warm, more than anything.
