Almost made it all the way home...

but then my bike decided there was someone pavement I needed to become more acquainted with.

It had just started raining and it was a junction of two trails, 90 degrees on one, then a right on to the other, made the first turn fine (on concrete) was making the second turn onto asphalt when my wheels found the paved junction and became totally unstuck.

I had made it 61 miles, had even been thinking earlier about how much better my bike handling had gotten using the mixed use trails.

Got a pretty sweet contusion on the upper right thigh.

I was thinking after the fact, is anybody else reminded of Calvin and Hobbes in those few moments after a crash. A robot with tiny people inside doing a systems check.
