Subject: Knee pain
In preparation for an upcomming event, I recently did a long bike ride. When I got off I noticed that one of my knees (the left) was in a fair amount of pain while the other was not. The pain went away after a few minutes. Someone mentioned once that this can be correct with an adjustment to the cleat on my bike shoe.

What kind of adjustment should I make?

Check the cleats to make sure the one on the side that is sore did not get loose and rotate.  If you hurt on the outside of the knee cap you could rotate your foot ever so slightly to the inside.  If you hurt on the inside of the knee cap rotate slightly to the outside.  Your goal is to get the knee cap to glide smoothly through the center of the groove.  I've never been very good at Illustrator but this is looking down at the end of your thigh bone.  You want to spread as much of the force out through the groove as possible and avoid pressure points.

Knee

It could also be the height of your seat and being too far forward or back relative to your pedals.
