Opera Canova Frameset - Look Familiar?

I saw this Opera road frameset on Bonktown.com. To me, it looks a LOT like a Pinarello.

Bonktown lists the retail price as $2699.95 and are selling it for $1157.81.

Anyway, here's my real question.  Do manufacturers of bikes do something like auto makers do... make the same car and give it 2 separate names?  Like these:

Chevy Cavalier & Pontiac Sunfire
Ford Escort & Mercury Tracer

If so, is Opera a cousin of Pinarello?  Is the quality the same?
