Subject: hydration plan?
I had my first sprint today, everything went pretty well.  But after jumping off the bike and running I felt like I had too much to drink on the ride, but I intentionally went very light on the drink during the ride.  I know if I drink before I run in training, my stomach complains.  This was was quite a bit hotter that when I train (I live in Florida).  I am interested in any tips or pointers on how to avoid the stomach clinch.  I am thinkig of running more in the heat perhaps?

thanks in advance,
Ken

as a rule, the higher the HR the slower your stomach digests and the hotter the temperature the slower your stomach digests because both scenarios require blood to be drawn away from the digestive tract. see if you can use your sprint as an experience and drink less next race until you can dial it in.

it's a little difficult to really dial it in during training since you typically won't be riding swimming then running at race intensities back to back for race distances.

experience is really the best way to get it dialed in for you.
