Subject: Foggy vision after OWS

I've done three tri's and a 2-mile OWS this summer and after each swim....my vision has been crazy foggy.  It seems to last for about 3-4 minutes after I get out of the water.  It's not blurry, but foggy.

This doesn't seem to happen when I'm training.  I've only noticed it during/after races.  Has anyone else experienced this?

Contact lens wearer or not? The most likley cause is corneal edema, or swelling of the cornea, whether you are a contact lens wearer or not. Dehydrated contacts suck to the cornea causing corneal swelling which goes away after a few minutes usually. Goggles too tight can occasionally raise eye pressure causing temporary corneal swelling. Ultimately the only way to answer your question would be to check you eyes when your cloudy vision is occuring, which likely isn't very practical.
